Gas prices are still on the rise, and Arizona motorists are inching closer to the $3 mark by the day. The statewide average jumped 4.8 cents to $2.92 per gallon. At $2.84, the national gas price average is 51 cents more expensive than a year ago.
Mississippi and California hold the lowest and highest average price for the lower 48 states at $2.54 and $3.65 per gallon.
The lowest in the state is in Tucson at $2.69 and the highest is $4.39 in White Hills between Kingman and Las Vegas.
